Your 6 days ultimate Uganda Gorilla and Masai Mara wildlife safari is an opportunity to go the East Africa’s iconic safari destinations. You get to enjoy a thrilling 3 days Masai Mara Safari tour starting in Nairobi and ending in Kampala with two nights in Bwindi Forest National Park which is a home to half of the world’s population of the mountain gorillas, using quality mid range safari lodges or tented camps, typically located inside or close to the main Maasai Mara National reserve and the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. This 5 night, 6 day tour includes road transport from Nairobi with up to four private Safari game drives inside the reserve. The trip may also include extra options such as a visit to a Maasai village.
Your Driver-Guide reports to your hotel for start of the safari to Masai Mara with a 7.30am to 8am departure for a picturesque drive descending the Great Rift Valley and onwards to Maasai Mara, Kenya’s famous game reserve. ( Drive time 5.5 hours). You will be in a private safari vehicle. Stop for some time at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint on the way, to enjoy the amazing views of the largest Valley in the world, said to be visible from outer space.
Arrive at Masai Mara for lunch at your lodge or camp. The afternoon game drive at 3.30pm allows spotting of the magnificent wildlife in the park ranging from the Big Cats such as Lion, Leopard & Cheetah to Rhino, Elephant and Wildebeest. Return to your lodge by 6.30pm.
You will be taken on two safari game drives today, one in the morning from 6.15am to 9am, followed by breakfast and the other in the late afternoon after lunch from 3.30pm to 6.30pm. The wildlife is usually more active during these times of the day. As your Masai Mara safari is private, your game drive timings will be flexible, useful if you are travelling with children, or are on a honeymoon. You may also choose to have a full day game drive [ one for the whole day] with a packed picnic lunch at no extra cost. Return in the evening for dinner and overnight at the lodge.
At the break of dawn you embark on your concluding safari game drive in Masai Mara, followed by a relaxed breakfast back at the camp/lodge, followed by an onward departure back to Nairobi by road. Arrive Nairobi by early afternoon [typically by 2.30pm], transfer to the airport for a to Entebbe.
Your will arrive in Entebbe in the evening, you check-in your hotel for an overnight stay and dinner as you prepare to hit the road the next day to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
Your day will start after an early breakfast and you will embark on your gorilla safari southwards to Bwindi Impenetrable forest. The journey will offer you highway sights of rural and semi-urban Uganda with several fruit & vegetable markets along the roads, craft and drum makers and a stop at Uganda’s Equator monument where you will cross to the southern hemispheres.
After the experience at the Equator, the drive will continue with a stopover in Mbarara for lunch before proceeding to Bwindi with short bathroom stopovers and picture sessions of landscape and other attractions.
Alternatively, you will take a morning flight to Bwindi forest or Mgahinga gorilla national park. You will then be picked up from the airstrip and transferred to your hotel for relaxation in preparation for gorilla trekking. You have an option for an afternoon community experience.

The second day of your Bwindi gorilla tracking Uganda safari starts with a very early breakfast before you head out to the park headquarters at around 7:00am. You will be briefed about the ‘dos’ and ‘don’ts’ while on a gorilla trekking excursion.
You will then hit the trails with a team of professional guides and trackers. A typical gorilla trekking excursion lasts between 2 – 8 hours. Hiking through the beaten trails in search of the potent giants is exerting but greatly rewarding.
Once you encounter a gorilla family, you will spend an hour observing its members; how the domineering male silverback (head of the family) displays his authority and ability. Besides the males, you will also see the caring mothers tending to their little ones; feeding some, rubbing a few, carrying others and keeping a watchful eye on those playing in the trees. You will be allowed to take photos of the experience.
Today you drive back to Kampala. Have lunch at the Equator and enjoy picture sessions in both the northern and southern hemispheres. This will mark the end of your lovely Kenya Masai Mara and Gorilla Trek Uganda holiday.
